Explain the task clearly and at an unhurried pace, facing the client whenever possible. Provide privacy by closing a curtain, screen or door. Remove the gown directly into the soiled-linen container while keeping the chest and lower body covered. Check water safety and comfort before washing, and ask the client whether the temperature feels comfortable. Put on clean gloves before washing the client. Start with the eyes: use a wet soap-free cloth, a fresh area for each stroke, and work from inner to outer corner; then wash the face.Critical · source marked Dry the face with a dry cloth or towel. Expose one arm and protect beneath it with a towel. Add soap to a wet washcloth. Wash the fingers and nails, hand, arm and underarm while the rest of the body stays covered. Rinse and dry the fingers, hand, arm and underarm. Move the client gently without forcing or overextending limbs and joints. Put a clean gown on the client. Empty the basin, rinse it and dry it. Place the basin in the designated used-supply area. Put used linen into the soiled-linen container. Keep used linen away from your clothing. Remove gloves into the waste container without contaminating yourself, then wash your hands. Leave the call device within reach and lower the bed. Review my practice
